How Chiropractic Care Can Help Learning Disorders

Treating Learning Disorders Through Chiropractic Care

At the Lancaster Chiropractic Life Center, we treat patients for more than just physical pain. With a link between chiropractic care and learning disorders, it is our goal to help patients thrive after a diagnosis. Our chiropractor will evaluate your child’s musculoskeletal system to determine how they will benefit from chiropractic care. There are a few ways that we use chiropractic care to treat certain learning disorders.

.

Chiropractic Adjustments for Dyslexic Patients

While most people associate chiropractic adjustment with back pain, there are other ways that it treats the human body. Adjusting the spine of someone diagnosed with dyslexia, for example, changes the way the nerves communicate with the brain. This change in communication may help children learn despite their dyslexia.

Chiropractic Care for Autistic Patients

Treating the central nervous systems of children diagnosed with autism is one way in which chiropractic care can help improve the quality of their life. A chiropractic adjustment can improve communication within the nervous system, which can in turn improve a child's ability to think, learn, and reason. Many parents of autistic children turn to chiropractic care as an alternative to prescription medications. Chiropractic adjustments will also eliminate physical pain that may be distracting a child from learning.

Even the youngest children can benefit from being treated by a chiropractor. Some learning disorders can be caused by birth trauma, which can be detected by performing thermographic electromyography. This allows the chiropractor to make improvements to a patient's nervous system.

ADHD Help

Children diagnosed with ADHD can also benefit from chiropractic care. Physical pain can exacerbate the symptoms of ADHD, further reducing the affected child’s ability to focus. Treating a child for ADHD helps improve their ability to physically move around without experiencing discomfort. Along with this, they have an easier time controlling how they behave. Receiving treatment from a chiropractor also cuts down on how much the nervous system experiences interruptions. Our chiropractor will study a patient's symptoms to determine the best course of treatment.
